The Aidsfonds EmpowHER Fund, a Netherlands-based international grantmaker, closed a major funding round in December 2025 targeting South African community-led NGOs. The €4 million fund supports women-led leadership and HIV prevention methods. Entering 2026, the MPS Foundation (UK) also invited South African healthcare organizations to apply for its global research grants, offering up to R4.3 million for projects improving patient safety. Additionally, the British Council continued its support for South African female entrepreneurs through the SWEEP programme, providing international grants and mentorship to overcome systemic barriers to economic empowerment in the higher education sector.
